Your Body is Screaming for Help
This is the true reason for the insecurity we feel when we neglect our bodies.
Many moms come to me, asking for help with their teenage daughters. The main issue is not as much the shape of their bodies. Rather, it is the daughters’ mindsets — their insecurities, self-doubt, and moodiness — that makes moms worried. Moms don’t understand why their daughters are going through these ‘self-judging phases,’ since the girls’ bodies are perfectly fine. Since I was in my twenties, I went through the same phase. These days, I deal with the same issue, but I am on the other side as a mom; therefore, I totally get the moms, and I totally get the daughters.
Let me skip ahead to the heart of the issue, and then slowly make my way back around. We, humans, were created with an ego whose main function or purpose is to help us in this physical world. For example, when the body is running out of fuel, we get hungry and will do whatever it takes to refill the tank. Just think about a hungry baby crying, not stopping until she is fed. Without that cry, we would die of hunger. Another example is feeling awesome whenever we accomplish something big or special; feeling good drives us to thrive. On the other hand, when we do something — well, stupid — we feel guilty or bad about it, and that awful feeling drives us to avoid doing those wrong things again. Imagine if we did not have an…
