The Disconnect Between Spirituality and Fitness that I See
How can we understand spiritual people and use their power to shape our bodies?
I was watching a YouTube video by a Spiritual Growth whiz. I like the analogies he uses to help the viewers better understand what he is talking about. However, I have noticed that even in my teaching — and I am not even close to the level of ‘whiz’ when it comes to Spiritual Growth — when I talk about Faith and Fitness, in the beginning, many people do not really “get it.”
They seem especially lost or skeptical when I explain the impact or power of connecting to our Soul, Higher Power, or God (honestly, it doesn’t matter which word you use; we will still be talking about the same ‘Thing’) while transforming our bodies. I can see my clients’ eyebrows raise when I connect Faith to activities like losing weight, sticking with healthy eating, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, working out, getting enough sleep, etc.
I like the whiz’s analogy that explains how we all have different levels of perception and understanding of the same thing. However, it isn’t based on personal opinion, but on the depth of the layers in between. Let me explain.
