How to shape the body from a 360-degree angle:

Many people assume that all personal trainers have been miraculously (or genetically) gifted with trim, fit bodies. But consider this: just because someone is a doctor doesn’t mean he or she is automatically immune to illness, or that a hairdresser is blessed with naturally beautiful goldilocks and her hair will never become frizzy or turn grey. Even personal trainers must work out, eat well, and care for their bodies. Ideally, every trainer should walk the talk (and her or his body will tell you if they do not).

The same applies to me. I have to work to maintain my fit and healthy body; my body doesn’t shape itself. But I am not obsessed with staying in shape. You see, after many years of trying and failing, I have finally figured out how to keep my body in shape without food deprivation, calorie counting, and spending hours in the gym.

However, a little body “setback” inspired this post. I have been very busy with my coaching and training, and I was starting to neglect my body’s minimum requirement of 7 hours of sleep. Waking up early at 4:45 am, I was getting barely 6 hours of sleep. When the body is tired, it will start asking for extra energy to function, and there are only two ways we can supply…
