Shed a Few Pounds with a Good Mood
Let’s unveil the power of your “moodiness” on the shape and health of your body.
I am pretty sure you know how much stress can wreak havoc on our bodies from within, and I am not talking only about mental health. Stress is responsible for so much more harm than simply causing anxiety and depression. It causes all kinds of destruction on our inner bodies, from setting off our digestive systems and creating ulcers to diminishing vitamin absorption, all the way to liver enzyme dysfunction and altogether shutting down our immune systems. However, there is also our moodiness, or as I call it, ‘frumpiness,’ which sabotages our hard work to keep our bodies in their most desirable shape. That’s right: maybe the reason you can’t lose those last 5–10 pounds or make any progress on your strength and toning might be…your mood!
Before you get upset with me for accusing you of being moody and frumpy, let me explain. I promise you, it all will make sense. But first, I’d like to explain what I mean by being frumpy or moody. It has nothing to do with being ‘bitchy,’ as many might assume. I am not saying that if someone is frumpy, she is bitchy. Being frumpy is more about holding in whatever negative things are going on in someone’s life. The person might not necessarily be upset and furious; she may also be sad, frustrated, depressed, etc.
