I wanted to know what percentage of New Year’s resolutions are related to fitness or wellbeing. Through research, I discovered that 95% of resolutions are related to fitness, but after just three months, only 10% of people think their resolutions will last. The question arose in my mind while I was listening to an interview with Elon Musk’s biographer, Walter Isaacson.

He wrote biographies about Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Steve Jobs, Leonardo da Vinci, and gene researcher Jennifer Doudna. Mr. Isaacson shared his interesting observations of Elon Musk and Steve Jobs. He said that both had enormous passion, which they connected with their higher purpose. He believes that without that connection, their passion would not have been enough to create what these highly successful men did.

That made me wonder whether having the same passion and connection with a higher purpose when it comes to keeping our bodies healthy, well, and fit could result in fewer bodyweight-related health issues and illnesses. Obviously, there is a universal desire to be fit, which is evident from the endless Health and Fitness New Year’s resolutions to lose weight and improve the body’s wellbeing.
