“I had to choose between God and junk food”
How do you break the cycle of eating foods that wreck your health and your body?
The inspiration to write this article came to me during my spa treatment. After I told her I was a Faith & Fitness and Pilates coach, the person who was giving the treatment began telling me her own body/life transformation story during my treatment. Although I didn’t end up receiving my paradise-escape-relaxation because we were talking the entire time, I was so thrilled she had chosen to share her story with me because she confirmed what I have been preaching and coaching for years: The combination of Fitness and Faith is the safest and most guaranteed way to transform your body. Period.
Sara has six children, and until two years ago, she was 90 lbs. overweight. Her ex had left her, and within two months, he had shared a photo of his new girlfriend on Facebook. Sara said that it was her “rock bottom moment.” She said, “I had never in my life felt so ashamed of my body, of letting myself fall so far down and for such a long time.” After losing 90 pounds, she now has more energy and drive to live an abundant life.
So how did Sara do it? She did it through faith, she said: “The more I ate healthy and exercised, the closer I felt to God. The closer I felt to God, the more I wanted to take care of my body — to eat healthy and exercise.”
