Eat for Who You Want to be Tomorrow
How did I finally figure out how to navigate healthy eating and enjoying the not-so-healthy foods without the guilt or the weight gain?
I am sure the most significant dilemma or obstacle we face when debating whether or not to make the final and ultimate commitment to a healthy lifestyle is this thought: “Does this ultimate commitment mean that I have to give up all the fun times and ‘fun’ (unhealthy) food? That healthy lifestyle sounds so boring and scary!”
I understand this concern, because getting together with friends and family and thoroughly enjoying all the celebratory foods without secretly worrying and counting calories sounds impossible. But giving up those fun get-togethers altogether sounds like giving up all the joy!
So, I would like to share how you, too, can navigate healthy and not-so-healthy eating without consequences like feeling guilty, ashamed, bloated, and puffy after one night of having fun with your friends. I don’t believe we should sacrifice friendships in order to stick strictly to healthy foods. I have made the acquaintance of some people who are so committed to their health that they avoid unhealthy foods at all costs, including turning down invitations to family dinners and social events.
