How can you navigate through the avalanche of conflicting information when it comes to building a lean and strong body?

I don’t blame you, and you are certainly not alone, if you find yourself going down a rabbit hole of information on how to lose weight or get your body into a healthier and more desirable shape. I used to be in that hole myself for a while, until I finally put my foot down and began adhering to my own strict rules: 1. Use common sense, 2. Check it on my own body, and then 3. Mind my own business — which means sticking with what I have learned and not getting distracted by all the media posts and “new diet trend” claims. Another good rule I follow is that, when I read some new information, I check to see who is behind the curtain. Who is pushing the information, and why?

For example, for two decades we were told that carbs like pasta and bread should be at the bottom of the food pyramid if we wanted to follow a healthy diet. Today, pasta and bread (and any other carbs) are at the top of the pyramid, which means we should be eating the least amount of those foods. I wonder how an entire food group can be relocated all the way from the bottom to the top of the pyramid. How could the ‘experts’ make such a huge mistake while doing their research, and come to that final conclusion for the entire world? Another completely different piece…
