Where your cravings are, there your body will be, also.

I am sure you recognize this pattern within your own health and fitness journey. I certainly recognize it in mine. In the beginning, we get so excited and motivated to get in shape and finally get on track for a healthy lifestyle. However, as time goes by, we start negotiating with our own bodies: “Well now, I know I deserve a healthy and fit body, but don’t I also deserve some joy and fun? After doing such a good job, don’t I deserve some sort of reward like wine, a Snickers bar, or a pizza?”

Each time we begin a diet and workout regimen, we start by respecting our bodies and making them a priority. Nothing comes between us and our workouts, our healthy food selections, and our bodies. Our reward, our pleasure, is “feeling good,” which I consider to be a higher level of pleasure. But when the craving for those good feelings starts fading, the lower-level craving for ice cream and a glass of wine creeps in. And we all know what that leads to. So, if you think about it, the health and wellness of our physical body correlates with our level of pleasure or craving.
