Stop blaming yourself for your body’s changes after 40. Instead, use these tips to slow down those changes.

I was on a mission (and being WAY too stubborn about it) not to use reading glasses at all. I had never experienced a problem with my vision, but after turning 40, my arms started getting shorter while I was reading. However, I vowed that there was no way I would use reading glasses before I reached 50. And to be fair, I almost reached my goal; I ended up landing just two weeks short. I was “forced” to purchase my very first pair of reading glasses; otherwise, I would’ve gone two weeks until my birthday without reading.

But frustratingly, that was only the beginning for me. You see, after 40, our bodies and minds start going through a cascade of changes that can result in loss of control over the shape of our bodies, leaving us feeling frustrated, helpless, and just plain angry if we let them. In fact, I have noticed that many women who start taking Pilates classes have never worked out before. This is very sad because, without those 40+ changes, they would probably never have discovered the joy of working out and feeling fit.
